Approval of 97 temporary batches of Plus-One batches for the districts from Kasargode and up to Palakkad
The cabinet has decided to approve 97 temporary batches additionally towards resolving the shortage of seats in plus-one admissions, to the higher secondary schools in the Malabar region.

The additional batches were sanctioned to various government/aided schools in Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasargode districts.

The batches will be abolished in the event of defficiency in the number of required students after closing the admissions. The students who got admission in such new batches will be shifted to existing batches in the same school or to similar batches in the nearby schools.

Approval for the 2023-24 liquor policy
The cabinet has decided to approve the liquor policy 2023-24.

Mental Health Nursing Course
Approval was given to start MSc (Mental Health Nursing Course) in Thiruvananthapuram and Alappuzha Government Medical Colleges from 2023-24 academic year onwards by stipulating the number of seats to 8.

Approval for extension
Approval for extension was given to the Deputy Director post, which was sanctioned in the Information and public Relations Department to settle the pension affairs of media persons/other pensions, from 01/04/2023 to 31/03/2024.

Approval for extension was given to the temporary posts of 2 sub registrars and 4 clerks in the registration department from the posts of 4 sub registrars and 6 clerks, which were sanctioned earlier to expedite the chit arbitration cases in Thrissur district, to 31/03/2024.

Pay revision
It was decided to extend the benefits of 11th pay revision to the government approved, permanent employees of Malabar Devaswom Board with retrospective effect from 01/07/2019 onwards, subject to the relevant norms regarding this.

Declaration as biodiversity hotspot
It was decided to initiate the proceedings for declaring Idayilaykkadukavu in Valiyaparambu grama panchayat, Kasargode district as biodiversity hotspot.

Whetted
The decision taken for creation of 116 posts to ensure smooth functioning of the department of Indian Systems of Medicine, was whetted.

Ganga Singh appointed as Chief of Forest department
It was decided to appoint Ganga Singh as the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Head of Forest Force). The appointment is done in the vacancy arising on 01/08/2023 upon the retirement of Bennichan Thomas.

New posts
It was decided to create the required posts for the smooth functioning of the Kerala Public Enterprises (Selection & Recruitment) Board.

The amount of Financial Aid will be distributed equally
The financial aid of Rs.4 lakhs sanctioned by the government of Kerala, to the family of late Binu Soman who was killed during mock drill in Mallapally, Pathanamthitta will be distributed equally between his legal heirs. The amount will be equally distributed between the sister of the deceased and the nephew who was under the protection of the deceased.

Amendment of order
It was decided to amend the order, which had given sanction to convert 27 temporary JCFM courts to permanent courts. Accordingly, 26 JCFM courts and one additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court will be designated as permanent courts. One Head Clerk/Junior Superintendent posts sanctioned to the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court will also be upgraded accordingly.

Approval for BPCL
The cabinet has decided to extend the facilities such as land, water, electricity and the permission to lay the required pipelines to BPCL, towards installing a plant to convert biodegradable waste from Kochi into compressed biogas. The BPCL will be asked to submit a detailed project proposal for this before 1st October 2023.

Permission for conversion of agricultural land
It was decided to give approval for converting 90 cents of paddy field for public purposes in Lakkidi-Perur2 village, Palakkad district towards reconstructing the Njavililkadavu bridge into an elevated structure, subject to relevant norms regarding this.

Sanction of compensation amount
It was decided to sanction the compensation payable to mill owners for the losses occurred during 2018 floods, by stipulating the amount to Rs.10 crores, as one-time settlement, subject to fulfilment of conditions put forward by the government. The compensation will be distributed against the letter of consent from the recipient mills that any further compensation regarding this will not be demanded by them in the future.
The representatives of Mill Owners Association and the CMD of Supplyco shall ensure that all mill owners, who have incurred losses in the flood are getting compensation irrespective of their membership in the association.
