Review of order by Electricity Regulatory Commission will be sought
The cabinet will ask to review the contracts, which are yet to get the Electricity Regulatory Commission’s final approval. The review of the order of Electricity Regulatory Commission is sought, on the basis of section 108 of the Central Electricity Act, in view of public interest to avoid delay in availing electricity for the state.
Approval for the Rebuild projects
The cabinet has given approval to the project recommendations/ detailed project documents submitted by various departments for consideration under the Rebuild Kerala Initiative (RKI)
Pathalam Regulator cum Bridge, Kadungallur, Ernakulum, reconstruction of Mannanam Bridge, basic infrastructure work in Thrissur-Ponnani Kole paddy fields to manage flood/drought, measures to protect the canals in the Darmadam area, desilting/construction of side walls of Achankovil & Pamba rivers and reconstruction of Padijarethara – 4th mile sector of Vaithiri-Taruvana road, are the projects which were given approval.
Approval to establish sanitary landfill
Approval was extended to establish sanitary land fill for the solid waste management project in 25 acres of land at Cheemeni village, Hosdurg taluk. The land will be given on lease for a period of 25 years subject to relevant norms regarding this. Rs.21,99,653/- is the annual lease amount.
Appointment
Binu Suresh, brother of police constable Balu.S, who lost his life in the boat capsize while delivering official duties in Panayil Kadavu, Varkala, will be given appointment as auditor under compassionate employment scheme. The appointment will be done as per the ‘out of turn priority’ norms applicable to the dependents of those who lose their lives while delivering their official duties.
A permanent post of Continuing Airworthiness Manager (CAM) will be created in the Rajiv Gandhi Academy for Aviation Technology. The appointment will be on contract basis.
Reappointment will be given in the vacancies of private secretary/personal assistant/confidential assistant posts to chairman and members of Kerala Administrative Tribunal.
Establishing counselling centre
A counselling centre will be established under Vimukti Mission in Thiruvananthapuram region. The centre will be established by creating two counsellor posts on temporary/contract basis. Their qualification required and remuneration will be equal to that of the counsellors working in the regional counselling centres at Kozhikode and Ernakulum.
Extended
The service tenure of John Sebastian, Managing Director, Oil Palm India Limited was extended for a period of one year from 06/06/2023.
Post
Additional Secretary post will be created in the department of Law to enable appointment of Law Officer in the Land Revenue Commissionerate.
2024 Public Holidays
The public holidays of the year 2024 was approved. The list of holidays as per the Negotiable Instruments Act were also approved. Only the holidays, which comes under the Kerala Industrial Establishment (National & Festival holidays) are applicable for the organisations, which come under the Labour Act, Industrial Disputes Act, Kerala Shops & Commercial Establishments Act and Minimum Wages Act.
Felicitation to sportspersons
Rs.10 lakhs was sanctioned to Anu.R who has won bronze medal in 400 meter hurdles in the 18th Asian Games held at Jakarta, Indonesia.
The remaining amount of Rs.5 lakhs payable to Mohammad Anaz who has won gold medal in the mixed relay competition was also sanctioned.
R.Anu has won bronze medal as the athlete from Bahrain who had won the medal was disqualified for consumption of stimulant drugs. The silver medal won by Mohammad Anas was upgraded into gold as the team, which had finished in the number one spot was disqualified when proved to be consumed stimulant drugs.
