New ITIs
Four new government ITIs will be established in the state. The ITIs will be opened at Chala in Nemom constituency, Peechi in Ollur constituency, Nagalassery in Thrithala constituency and Edappal in Thavanoor constituency.

Appointment of 60 permanent employees of four ITIs will be made by retrenching/ rearrangement of the existing staff/ posts. Three new posts of clerks will be created. Four watchmen and four casual sweepers will be appointed on contract basis.
Onam gift to scheduled tribes
55,506 members from scheduled tribes communities who are aged 60 years and above will be given Rs.1000/- as Onam gift from the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund.
Rs.14.5 crore project for Pottachal canal flood management
Cabinet has given approval for the Pottachal canal flood management project, in Kalamassery municipality, Ernakulum for Rs.14.5 crores. It is a flood management program to completely mitigate the likelihood of flood-water logging in the Pottachal, Parutheli areas in Kalamassery municipality. Implementation of the project will be done under the Rebuild Kerala initiative with aim of completely avoiding waterlogging in Alfia Nagar, Arafa Nagar, Vidya Nagar and Cochin University areas of Kalamassery municipality. Approval for the project was already given by the Rebuild Kerala Initiative Implementation Committee, which was met in Thiruvananthapuram. The total renovation of Pottachal canal will be realised through the project. The mapping of the areas, which are affected by waterlogging for years was conducted by the water resources department. The canal will be protected by widening it using box culvert, under the project. The design of the project is done to ensure easy flow of run off water during rainy season. The culvert also will be restored. The box culvert will be built by keeping the highest point of water logging as the base. The widening of the canal will be done fin 1037 meter distance.
Seventh State Finance Commission
It was decided to form Seventh State Finance Commission. K.N.Harilal, former member, Kerala State Planning Board will be the Chairman and Principal Secretary, Local Self Government Department and Additional Chief Secretary, Finance will be the members. The Commission will have a tenure of two years. The Commission will review the financial status of panchayats and municipalities and submit reports.
Various taxes, duties, surcharges and fees, which can be given to panchayats and municipalities will be decided. Measures required for empowering financial condition of panchayats and municipalities will be taken up. Financial policy measures will be recommended to address the challenges being faced as part of urbanisation. The local governments will be empowered to contribute to disaster management. Posts of additional secretary (Commission secretary)-1, joint secretary-1, undersecretary-1, accounts/ section officer-3, assistant-9, computer assistant-3, confidential assistant-3, office attendant-3, part time sweeper-1 and driver-1 will be created. The employees from finance department will be allocated to the Commission office.
Appointment
Miss.A.H.Ragini, who is taking care of master Shefiqe who suffered brutal attack from father and stepmother in Idukki district, will be given appointment as attendant in ICDS by creating a supernumerary post in ICDS.
Tender approved
Tender for the reconstruction of Puthamon bridge in Pathanamthitta district was approved. Tender submitted for the Pachalloor-Venganoor road was approved. Tender for 22 MLD WTP, OHSRs, RWPM, CWGMS, CWPMS having capacity of 16 LL, 10 LL & 0.5 LL & distribution main, power enhancement works, electromechanical works, leading pipes, upgradation of RWPH, providing distribution networks and restoration of road, will be approved.
Government pleader
Adv.P.Venugopalan Nair will be appointed to the post of district government pleader & public prosecutor, Kasaragod.
NOC will be given
NOC will be given by giving relaxation in the clauses in the existing order for applications submitted to run quarries on nomination basis for implementing projects, which exceeds Rs.5000 crore under the works being implemented by National Highways division in the state. The lease period will be the contract period or three years, whichever is less. It shall be ensured that the quarried rock will be used to meet the requirements for the approved works for NHAI road construction and development only.
Disbursement of assistance form the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund
Rs.3,75,74,000 has been distributed from the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund between 4th September to 10th September 2024. The number of beneficiaries from various districts is 1803.
